True Value
What makes a woman truly valuable, precious, and worthy of admiration? Unfortunately, society has it all mixed up, women are praised for their curves and eye-catching features. Women are painted as sexual figures in all forms of entertainment, women are looked on with judgment from the whole world and they have lost sight of what is truly beautiful in a woman. Today purity and character are rare while temporary looks are being broadcasted to get as much attention as possible. This very thing that is so admired is the same one that the Bible tells us is deceptive and fleeting, charm is no true representation of one's character, and everyone's looks will fade one day. What will be left is, one's character, who you truly are. Proverbs 31 describes a good woman; it describes her rarity, confidence, eagerness, capabilities, generosity, courage, wisdom, strength, and dignity. Proverbs 31 is an illustration of what a truly valuable woman is and yet society is lost looking at all the wrong things causing confusion in all the minds. But a woman who stays true to the word of God can seek these characteristics and God will bless her.
Woman of God
As amazing as it may feel to be appreciated by the staring eyes of the world, the only admiration we should seek is God's admiration and approval. It is His word that we should look to for instruction and it is to Him that we should pray to for Guidance. I always wanted to be like the woman mentioned in Proverbs 31 and I've been lucky enough to have some amazing role models in my life who are women of God such as my own mother. I pray to God that I can be like this woman and that I can bring joy to my family, my parents, my friends, my future husband, but most of all to the Lord. I hope that He can look at me and be happy with who I have become, but this can only be done with His constant presence in our lives. I ask to be closer to Him and to learn from His word and that I can be a woman of God, that my family and my church can be full of women of God, and that the women who read this can be women of God too. We should no longer define our value through the eyes of this deceptive world but through the eyes of the one true God who created us and who knows us inside and out. He is just and can see the depths of your souls, He can see every valuable piece of you. The Bible is full of women of God who have acted with such characteristics described in Proverbs 31. A woman who fears the Lord is a woman who seeks to do what pleases the Lord, and the Lord will guide her in this path and will bless her and those around her. Happy International Women's day and may God bless every single one of you special women and I pray that we may all be strengthened in the Lord together.
